President
Graham Hastie, CPA, CA
President
Graham Hastie is the dedicated owner of Nasaijit Financial Services Ltd., residing in Iqaluit, Nunavut since 2015. With a profound background in accounting and financial management, Graham is committed to fostering success for organizations and communities across Nunavut.
At Nasaijit, Graham leads by example, overseeing all staff members while providing expert guidance and consultation to larger organizations' accounting departments. His areas of expertise include preparing internal financial statements for large not-for-profits and private businesses, as well as specializing in private business tax planning. Graham also takes on the responsibility of preparing consolidated financial statements for significant entities like the Nunavut Housing Corporation.
Before assuming ownership of Nasaijit, Graham served as a Manager at Lester Landau - Chartered Professional Accountants in Iqaluit, where he offered a wide spectrum of audit, accounting, and consulting services to diverse clients, including hamlets, housing associations, and government departments. His role also involved comprehensive corporate and personal tax planning and preparation.
Graham holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from Brock University and is a Chartered Accountant, having earned his designation through rigorous academic and professional pursuits. His commitment to ongoing learning is evident in his completion of the 3-year CPA In-depth Tax Course, a rare achievement that distinguishes him as the sole CPA residing in Nunavut with this certificate.
Beyond his professional engagements, Graham recently embarked on a new chapter in life as a newlywed to his wife, Adrianna. Actively engaged in community affairs, Graham serves in prominent leadership positions, including Treasurer of the Baffin Regional Chamber of Commerce, President of the Nunavut Badminton Association, and Director at Sport Nunavut. Additionally, he has contributed his knowledge as a past Director of the Chartered Professional Accountants NWT/NU and as Treasurer of the Iqaluit Humane Society.


Belle Li, CPA
Belle Li, brings a wealth of expertise in bookkeeping and corporate tax filings tailored for small to medium-sized businesses. Armed with a master’s degree in accounting and finance and boasting a decade of diverse industry experience, Belle is committed to enhancing financial efficiency and facilitating business growth.
Throughout her career, Belle has excelled in streamlining accounting processes for numerous small businesses, ensuring compliance with filing deadlines, and collaborating closely with owners to foster organizational development. Since joining Nasaijit in 2023, Belle has served as a trusted advisor to a wide range of clients, spanning from salons and small restaurants to gas stations and non-profit organizations.
In her role, Belle is dedicated to providing full-cycle accounting services, including meticulous attention to detail and strategic business planning and forecasting. Beyond her professional commitments, Belle treasures spending quality time with her daughter and husband, embracing the joys of family life outside of the office.


Belle Li, CPA
Blair Nakonechny is an Assistant Manager and Bookkeeper dedicated to precision and efficiency in financial management. With a strong foundation in accounting principles and a sharp eye for detail, Blair supports his team while streamlining operational processes to achieve optimal results.
Blair studied business management and accounting, building a skill set that bridges financial expertise and IT proficiency. His career journey has taken him across western Canada, where he provided financial and IT services before joining the Nasaijit team in 2018. After spending 2.5 years in Iqaluit, Blair relocated to Rankin Inlet, where he continues to serve as a trusted financial advisor.
Over the years, Blair has had the privilege of visiting numerous communities across Nunavut, assisting with their financial needs, and forming meaningful connections along the way. As an expert in Sage 300, he has been instrumental in supporting municipalities and local housing organizations with monthly reporting and audit preparation. His commitment to excellence and his ability to navigate complex financial systems make him an invaluable asset to the team.


Deborah Nazareth, CPA, CA
Deborah Nazareth is a highly accomplished professional with a diverse background in accounting and financial management. Graduating with Honours from Brock University with a Bachelor of Accounting, Deborah obtained her Chartered Accountant designation in 2009, showcasing her commitment to excellence in her field.
Throughout her career, Deborah has gained extensive experience across various industries, including financial services, food import, non-profit, and public accounting. She has held roles such as Accountant, Analyst, Controller, and Category Manager, demonstrating her versatility and proficiency in financial management.
Specializing in district education authorities and not-for-profit accounting, Deborah brings a unique blend of expertise to her role. Her in-depth understanding of these sectors allows her to provide tailored solutions to meet the specific needs of her clients.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Deborah is the parent of an active child with numerous extracurricular activities, which occupies much of her spare time. Her favorite pastime is playing board games, which allows her to unwind and enjoy quality time with loved ones.


Elaine Lavoie
Elaine Lavoie
Elaine Lavoie is a skilled Bookkeeper with over fifteen years of experience in the financial services industry. An Inuk with extensive family in Nunavut and Newfoundland, Elaine is a graduate of Conestoga College in Ontario.
She brings a wealth of expertise from her previous roles, including serving as the Territorial Health Access Fund Liaison Officer for the Government of Nunavut. Since 2010, Elaine has focused on bookkeeping for non-profit organizations, contributing her extensive knowledge to Nasaijit Services and Aiviq Financial Services. Her commitment to accurate financial management and her passion for supporting community-based organizations make her a valued member of the team.


Emmanuel Agyemang, CPA

Graeme Conway, CPA, CA
Graeme Conway is a seasoned Chartered Professional Accountant with a diverse background in accounting and finance. He holds a Business Administration (Honors) degree from Red River College and a Bachelor of Commerce with double majors in Finance and Accounting from the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba.
Throughout his career, Graeme has provided accounting expertise to businesses across various industries, including grain merchandising, direct sales, manufacturing, retail, long-term care, and local government. His wealth of experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of financial management in different organizational settings.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Graeme is actively involved in volunteer activities within his community. He currently serves as the president of a local curling club and sits on the board of a seniors apartment complex. He is also joining the board of the local golf course, further demonstrating his commitment to community engagement and service.
Outside of work and volunteering, Graeme enjoys spending time with his beloved dogs, Penny and Paulie. He also cherishes moments spent with his grandmother, who is soon to celebrate her 91st birthday. Graeme's dedication to his profession, community, and loved ones reflects his multifaceted approach to life.


John Dela Cruz
John Dela Cruz serves as a dedicated Bookkeeper at Nasaijit based out of our Iqaluit office. In his role, John plays a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial records for clients.
His responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including assisting in bookkeeping, preparing journal entries, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, conducting bank reconciliations, overseeing payroll processing, and preparing various tax remittances for the Canada Revenue Agency and Workers Compensation. Additionally, John is entrusted with the preparation of year-end T4 returns, financial statements, and reports.
John's journey in the field of accounting began in 1999 when he graduated from Holy Angel University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy. He gained valuable experience during his tenure at Lifegiver Multi-Purpose Cooperative, where he served as a Loan Clerk for eight years.
Outside of his professional commitments, John enjoys exploring the picturesque landscapes of Iqaluit during his days off and spending quality time bonding with friends.


Krizza Faye Bactol
Krizza Faye Bactol is a skilled professional with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the College of the Immaculate Conception. Previously, Krizza served as a loan bookkeeper at the Land Bank of the Philippines, where she gained valuable experience in financial management and record-keeping.
In her current role, Krizza's clients include daycares, District Education Authorities, and not-for-profit organizations. She excels in various aspects of accounting, including bookkeeping, report preparation, payroll management, and reconciliations. Her attention to detail and dedication to accuracy ensure that her clients' financial records are meticulously maintained and compliant with regulations.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Krizza enjoys immersing herself in cultural experiences through movies, music, and travel. She also stays informed about current events by reading news articles.


Louis Primeau, CPA, CMA, CGA
Louis Primeau, CPA, CMA, CGA
With 37 years of experience as a professional accountant and senior manager, Louis Primeau brings a wealth of expertise to his role. Specializing in Nunavut municipal government management, community development, and local housing organizations, he boasts a well-established track record of assisting communities in achieving their goals.
Louis earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Dalhousie University in 1982 and has since obtained the CMA designation in 1986 and the CGA designation in 1993. He remains committed to continuous professional development, regularly undertaking training to stay abreast of industry advancements.
Throughout his career, Louis has served in various leadership roles, including more than a decade as a CAO and Director of Finance with Nunavut municipal governments, a three-time municipal council member, and a local housing manager for 16 years. With over 30 years dedicated to working at the local level in Nunavut, he derives immense satisfaction from assisting communities in accomplishing their objectives.
Outside of work, Louis values spending quality time with his family, cherishing moments of relaxation and connection.


Marie Soniga
Marie Soniga brings valuable expertise to her role as a Bookkeeper at Nasaijit. With a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the Philippines, Marie has accumulated extensive experience across various sectors, including not-for-profit organizations, education, law firms, and private businesses.
Marie's proficiency lies in bookkeeping, payroll management, monthly reporting, and budgeting. She specializes in District Education Authorities and not-for-profit bookkeeping, demonstrating a deep understanding of the unique financial needs and requirements of these organizations..
Her dedication to accuracy and efficiency, coupled with her diverse background, makes Marie a valuable asset to the Nasaijit team. With her expertise, she ensures that client financial records are meticulously maintained and that reporting processes are executed with precision and reliability.


Naty Ablay
Naty brings extensive experience and expertise to her role as a bookkeeper and accounting clerk at Nasaijit. Her responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including overseeing accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, general ledger postings, invoicing, bank statement reconciliation, and preparation of financial statements. Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Sage accounting software, Naty demonstrates proficiency in utilizing technology to streamline financial processes.
Natividad holds a Bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of San Carlos and has accumulated valuable experience working as an accounting clerk at Interco Manufacturing Corporation for 10 years and as an auditing assistant at the Commission on Audit for 12 years. She has also actively pursued continuous learning through seminars and training sessions, earning certificates to enhance her skills.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Naty enjoys indulging in arts and crafts, particularly beadwork, during her leisure time. She also finds joy in watching Netflix movies, savoring coffee, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and honing her baking skills with tutorials from YouTube.


Samantha Close, CPA
Armed with a bachelor's degree in commerce specializing in accounting, Samantha Close is a trained CPA with extensive experience spanning various industries. Her diverse background includes roles such as an onboarding and training specialist at an accounting firm, a senior tax preparer handling corporate and personal taxes, and an adjudicator at the British Columbia government.
Samantha specializes in providing comprehensive financial reporting, bookkeeping, and tax services. With a passion for accuracy and efficiency, she collaborates closely with clients to ensure their reports and financial statements are meticulously prepared to meet their needs.
Outside of her professional responsibilities at Nasaijit, Samantha is actively involved in volunteering to prepare tax returns for the community. She also enjoys indulging in watercolour painting and spending quality time playing board games with friends. Additionally, Samantha has contributed to her family's business as a wedding DJ.


Sarah Slater, CPA
Sarah, a Chartered Professional Accountant, brings a wealth of expertise to her role at Nasaijit. Graduating from Crandall University with a Bachelor of Business specializing in accounting, she honed her skills and knowledge in the field. Prior to joining Nasaijit, Sarah gained valuable experience in public practice at BDO.
Sarah is dedicated to providing accurate financial reporting and prioritizes excellent customer service in all her endeavors. Her commitment to precision and reliability ensures that clients receive the highest level of satisfaction.
Beyond the office, Sarah finds joy in spending quality time with her family and friends. She embraces an active lifestyle, enjoying activities such as jogging, hiking, and cross-country skiing during the winter months. Her passion for both professional excellence and personal well-being makes her a valuable asset to the Nasaijit team.


Stephany Taylor, CPA
Stephany Kresky is a CPA with a strong academic foundation, having earned a Bachelor of Commerce with a minor in Economics from McMaster University, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Queen’s University. Her journey from Ontario to British Columbia and now Halifax mirrors her dynamic career, marked by her role as a Senior Accountant at KPMG. There, she led audit engagements for public sector entities, not-for-profits, and privately held companies, specializing in financial analysis, internal controls evaluation, and risk assessment.
At Nasaijit, Stephany brings her expertise in ASPE and IFRS principles, ensuring financial accuracy and regulatory compliance. Her collaborative approach has been key to maintaining strong client relationships and delivering high-quality financial services.
Outside of work, Stephany is an active member of the volleyball community in Nova Scotia, where she plays recreationally and referees for Volleyball Nova Scotia. She also enjoys group fitness classes and balances her love of pizza and pastries with her passion for fitness. Recently married to her partner of seven years, she is enjoying life in Halifax with a blend of work, fitness, and community involvement.


Stephen Jensen, CPA
Originally hailing from Saskatchewan, Stephen Jensen brings with him a robust work ethic instilled by his upbringing, ensuring meticulous and efficient completion of tasks.
Stephen embarked on his academic journey by pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in Accounting at Ambrose University in Calgary, AB. Subsequently, he obtained his CPA designation, solidifying his expertise in the field of accounting.
Stephen honed his skills in public practice at MNP LLP, where he specialized in year-end compilations, reviews, audits, and managed a personal tax team. His proficiency and dedication earned him a reputation for delivering high-quality financial services.
At Nasaijit, Stephen specializes in financial accounting and reporting for not-for-profits and personal tax preparation, leveraging his extensive experience and expertise.
Beyond his accounting responsibilities, Stephen harbors a passion for general aviation. Currently working towards obtaining his private pilot’s license, he aspires to achieve significant milestones in the aviation realm, mirroring his accomplishments in the field of accounting.


Valerie Brown, CPA
Valerie graduated from Vancouver Island University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree. Following her BBA, she pursued further education through the CPA Western School of Business’ Professional Education Program, earning her CPA designation in the spring of 2023.
During her time in university and in the years following, Valerie gained extensive experience in public practice, focusing on personal and corporate tax, assurance, and a variety of other accounting tasks. Known for her eagerness to learn, Valerie actively sought out diverse work projects to expand her accounting skills and knowledge.
Valerie is dedicated to providing exceptional service to her clients, consistently striving to exceed their expectations with her diligent work ethic. Her specialization lies in accounting for local housing organizations and not-for-profits.
Outside of the office, Valerie finds joy in her yoga practice and is deeply involved in the yoga community. She also embraces outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and traveling, with an ever-growing list of destinations on her bucket list. And, as a true food enthusiast, Valerie believes that good food is the ultimate key to happiness.
